The DELSEY company was founded in 1946 with the partnership of Emile Delahaye and André & Walter Seynhaeve. These three men used to make leather cases for cameras and photographic equipment as a cottage industry but soon DELSEY was to become the number one French manufacturer of cases for photographic equipment and that was the beginning of the of the success story!
Although famous for their luggage today, it was only in 1970 that DELSEY took off into the world of travel. That same year the first rigid luggage line, the DELSEY Airstyle, saw the light of day and since then DELSEY has kept on developing products with better and better design and function.

Two years after its start in the luggage market, DELSEY launched a major innovation: the world’s first rigid suitcase on wheels – Airstyle. More than an innovation, the trolley system was going to shake up the habits of globe-trotters by making their lives simpler, responding to and anticipating customers’ needs like all DELSEY products.
It was with this in mind that DELSEY went on to launch a succession of travel items which would revolutionize the luggage world and bring in a large number of nominations in design competitions.
Today, one DELSEY bag is sold every 10 seconds.
